For fans of Alice in Wonderland, _Automated Alice_ by Jeff Noon is
sort of fun. Noon does a pretty good, though not great, job of
imitating Lewis Carroll's writing style. In this story, Alice
Liddell is transported to the year 1998 and confronts, among many
other creatures, an automated version of herself. An amusing look at
how Carroll might have envisioned the future. I'm pretty sure that I
missed a lot of cultural allusions, though I think I caught the
scientific ones.
