_Drawing Blood_ by Poppy Z. Brite is about a cartoonist who was the only survivor of a brutal murder committed by his father twenty years earlier. He goes back to the site of the murders to try and exorcise his internal demons. He is joined by a computer hacker on the run from the law, and together they get trapped in a nightmare born of an alternative cartoon world.

Anyhow, here's the review I posted somewhere else:
" ...Poppy Z. Brite has produced a thoroughly modern haunted house story infused throughout with her signature blend of heady homoeroticism, drugs, and music. On the way, Brite neatly captures a slice of current horror- and cyberculture through her recognition of artists ranging from Bosch, Giger, and Lovecraft to Gibson and Sterling. Recommended for those who would enjoy a more darkly decadent Anne Rice mixed with a liberal amount of Stephen King's ghoulishness."
