_Gojiro_ by Mark Jacobson is the story of a famous B-movie monster and his true friend, the Coma Boy, who survived the bombing of Hiroshima then spent nine years in a coma. They live on Radioactive Island with children of the bomb, known as Atoms, seeking the answer to happiness while living in a setting too weird for the normal world.

The angst-ridden Gojiro, who harbors hatred for those who created the atomic bomb which made him the monster he is, and Coma Boy travel to America in response to a strange plea from the reclusive daughter of the mastermind behind the atomic bomb. This one's odd, and perhaps not to everyone's taste. The writing style reminds me of the postmodern ramblings of Lance Olsen.
