_Headcrash_ by Bruce Bethke is a *fun* book to read. I still haven't decided whether it's a spoof of cyberpunk books or a cyberpunk book that just plain doesn't take itself seriously. It's a little like a cyberpunk book would be if written by Douglas Adams. From "infonuggets" that suggest that "if you're the kind of wanker who gets off on a good man page, dial 1-900-GET-A-LIFE" (I probably don't remember that quote exactly) and advertise a dating service for compugeeks called "Diminished Expectations," to a wild and crazy MUD-like virtual world, this book is hilarious and fast-paced. A very refreshing change in the sometimes overly-serious cyperpunk genre.
