_Holy Fire_ by Bruce Sterling is one of the nominees for the 1997 Hugo Awards. This one's a cyberpunkish story of a future in which medical care is allotted on how virtuous a lifestyle one leads. The aged main character, having led a very careful (read: dull) life, has the chance to get the most expensive, albeit experimental, "upgrade" to a new, young body. What happens when a woman who spent a lifetime being dull and predictable gets a second chance at life? I found this book to be interesting and fast-paced, if a bit shallow, but fun nonetheless. It's a nice change having a female protagonist in a cyberpunk story.
